Scoring model (v1)
Every machine starts at 0 and can earn up to 100 points across five weighted factors. The same weights apply to the whole catalog — no editorial overrides in the calculator.
- Budget (25) — observed list price vs your band. Outside the band scores low; “flexible” scores mid for all.
- Milk (25) — auto-milk, super-auto / Oracle-class automation, and milk-drink tags score higher when you drink milk often.
- Experience (20) — beginners favor built-in grinders, assisted tamping, and forgiving workflows; enthusiasts favor 58 mm / mod-friendly semis without forced automation.
- Space (15) — compact picks prefer Bambino-class footprints and smaller tanks; wide all-in-ones lose points on compact answers.
- Workflow (15) — craft vs push-button vs drip+espresso combo. “Unsure” splits the difference and nudges readable semis.
